How Camera Works

The adjoining figure shows the functionality of a camera in brief. A camera is nothing but a dark box, holding a light sensetive film.

The photographer can see an image through the viewfinder. When he/she clicks the shutter release button, an aperture momentorily opens behind the lens. This lets some light to pass through the aperture to the film. The light sensetive material on the film reacts to form a negative image of the frame visible through viewfinder.
